Randomness??

some more memories of the trip...from the work, to the people, the aminals (and yes I know how to spell animal ;) to the scenery S Africa is one of the world's treasures...who knows what the future holds for the country, but if can make it back...I WILL!!!

Oh the places you will go...

And the people you will meet...

I would be remiss without stating the fact that I will miss the people that I met in my travels more than anything...from the Zulu family of the my good friend Mpo...or the people I worked with or some of my new family in Durban... the people of S Africa truly made this trip for me...you will be missed and not forgotten...

Capetown: Table MTN!!!!!

Ok...sorry for the delay...the internet was out for a spell, but I'm back...

Capetown was amazing...the city is a beautiful resort in and of itself and the weather was nice for the visit even though it's winter here...these pics are from Table Mtn. the cornerstone of sites upon entry into the city...was only in town for two days on the 4th holiday...woke up in the AM with the view of the Mountain and then we headed out to conquer (or rather battle the mtn I should say) took pics the whole way up and then the payoff at the top...pics from the top of the whole city, the stadium and robben island (where Mandela was imprisoned)-wasn't able to make it to the island...that okay...wanted to leave some stones unturned...because TRUST I'll be back...group trip anyone? ;)

Apartheid...

The Apartheid Museum left me speechless....unfortunately I was unable to take photos inside of most of the Museum...so you are only left to look at enough to "wet" your appetite ;)...the museum was a powerful examination of what hate, distrust and abuse of power can do...although it can't defeat the human spirit it can certainly take a toll...

Durban!!!!!

These are pics from Durban a coastal city on the Indian Ocean (East SA)...amazing weather...and I finally got my run in ;) (one more continent checked off of my running bucket list)...the pics are from various places in the coastal city...including the land of 1000 hills (even in the foggy rain was still beautiful) where Alan Paton was inspired to write Cry the Beloved Country...

Ghana game...front row seat...BLACK STARS (still) shining!!!

These are pics from the Ghana v. Germany game...with the best seat in the house!!! had a great time with the Ghana bredren and sistren, even though Ghana lost got to see some world class soccer...and hopefully a future CHAMPION!!! Soccer City was an amazing cite...it made the Giants Superbowl in Phx look like childs play...I sat about 30 feet from the field...got to meet the Ghana coaches from years past as well...I understand why soccer is the most popular sport in the world...btw...sorry US team, black stars trump white stars and bars... ;)
